Dev Anand - 26 September 1923 – 3 December 2011

    Dev Anand, the 'evergreen romantic superstar' of Indian cinema, died in London on Saturday night.He was  Born as Devdutt on September 26, 1923, in the Punjabi-speaking Anand family.

    He was the second of three brothers who were active in Hindi Cinema. His brothers were Chetan Anand and Vijay Anand. Their sister, Sheel Kanta Kapur, is the mother of renowned Hindi and English film director Shekhar Kapur. The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Bhushan in 2001 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2002 for his contributions towards Indian cinema. He started his filmi career with the film named, "Hum Ek Hain".

    The list of films in which he acted is so long. But the most famous ones are: Taxi Driver, C.I.D, Kala Bazar, Bombai Ka Baboo, Roop ki Rani Choron ka Raja, Asli Naqli, Guide, Jewel Thief, Hare Raama Hare Krishna, Heera Panna and Banarasi Babu.

    The last movie in which he acted was "Chargesheet" in 2011. In his filmi career, he worte only one movie "Des Pardes". He not only worte the script of the that movie but also acted in it, directed and produced that one.

    His died was a great lose to India Cinema as he was the legend.
